TYPES OF BURIALS
Nassau Knolls Cemetery offers a variety of burial options to accommodate the preferences and traditions of every family. Nassau Knolls Cemetery is a non-denominational cemetery. These include gravesites within our flat bronze marker sections, traditional headstone sections, mausoleum entombment for casket burials, cremation niches, and urn garden interments for cremated remains. We also provide the option for private mausoleums to be built as well.
Flat Bronze Marker Sections
Nassau Knolls Cemetery features several flat bronze marker sections located throughout the grounds. Within these memorial park areas, each gravesite can accommodate up to two interments. These full-size graves may be used for both casket burials and cremated remains.
Each gravesite is memorialized with a bronze marker set flush with the ground, creating a clean, uniform appearance that enhances the natural beauty of the landscape. Only fresh cut flowers are to be placed in these sections; no planting is allowed.
At the time of need, our experienced staff members are available to assist families in designing and ordering a personalized bronze marker to honor and commemorate their loved one.
Headstone:
Nassau Knolls Cemetery features several headstone sections located throughout the grounds. These full-size graves can accommodate both casket burials and cremated remains, offering families flexibility in their memorial choices.
Headstone sections allow for a semi-circular planting bed in front of the monument, providing an opportunity for in-ground plantings. Families are encouraged to review the cemetery’s Rules and Regulations regarding in-ground plantings within these areas to see which plants are permitted.
To memorialize your loved one, headstones must be purchased through an independent monument dealer of your choice.
Mausoleums:
Nassau Knolls Cemetery has our three beautiful Harbor of Peace Mausoleums along with our Evergreen Mausoleum, where casket interments can be made in crypts along with cremation interments in Niches. The mausoleums are peaceful and serene, with visitors’ benches, shaded alcoves, mUltiple flower vessels, and our landmark granite-etched drawing water feature.
Your loved one’s memory is honored through the inscription of their name on the crypt or niche front. Nassau Knolls also helps in selecting a porcelain cameo that can be affixed to the crypt or niche, as well as participation in our floral vase program.
Private mausoleums may also be built on our grounds. If you are interested in building a private mausoleum, please contact our office and a staff member will give you further information and details.
Cremains:
Nassau Knolls Cemetery offers a variety of dignified options for the interment of cremated remains throughout the grounds. Cremains may be placed in full-sized graves, above-ground niches, or within our thoughtfully designed urn gardens.
Our above-ground niche options are available across several distinct structures, including the Evergreen Mausoleum, Harbor of Peace Mausoleums, Serenity Columbarium, and our elegant glass niches located within the Tower Atrium and inside the Evergreen Mausoleum. Each setting provides a serene and respectful environment for remembrance.
The urn gardens are dedicated sections designed exclusively for cremated remains, set within charming, landscaped areas throughout the cemetery. These tranquil gardens offer a peaceful and intimate setting for memorialization.
Depending on the selected location, your loved one may be memorialized with a flat bronze marker, a traditional headstone, or personalized inscriptions on a niche front or marker.
Tower Atrium & Evergreen Glass Niches
The Chimes Tower is now home to our beautifully appointed glass niche columbarium. Each glass niche is designed to hold a decorative urn, along with approved personal memorabilia, creating a meaningful and personalized tribute.
